Introduction Fariq Ishaak
Fariq graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam as an economist specialized in (international) tax law. He started his career in 1996 in the international tax practice of Arthur Andersen in Rotterdam. In 1998 Fariq joined KPMG to assist in developing the tax practice of KPMG in Suriname, South-America. He advised several multinational clients in the area of mining (BHP Billiton, Boskalis), construction (Ballast Nedam), food (KFC and Pizza Hut) and lottery (Canadian Bank Note) regarding their business operations in Suriname.
In 2007 Fariq returned to The Netherlands where he worked for Tax Consultants International as an international tax advisor advising multinational groups in structuring their business activities in and via the Netherlands. The last 5 years Fariq worked as a Group Tax Manager with JKX Oil & Gas Plc, a London listed Oil & Gas Company with main assets in Ukraine and Russia. In this role Fariq was responsible for all group tax matters including tax accounting for group audit purposes.
As per 1 January 2018 Fariq started his own Accounting and Advisory practice with offices in Hoofddorp (near Amsterdam) and Suriname. Fariq will contribute his experience gained from the last 20 years in The Netherlands, South-America, UK and CIS countries in order to grow his practice.
